It was published by the US Field Artillery Association, Fort Sill, Oklahoma was an official publication of the United States Army Field Artillery Corps. Its intended readership included active reserve U.S. Army Marine field artillerymen stationed around the world. In its final years, FA included much discussion of the military operations in both Afghanistan Iraq. This is a tremendous research resource on artillery subjects. From the first edition, January-March 1911 The Field Artillery Journal until the last edition, March-April 2007 Field Artillery, the magazine has been dedicated to the professional development of US Army Field Artillerymen, originally, then, later, also US Marine Corps Field Artillerymen. It was published under the auspices of the US Army Field Artillery School Center, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.As stated in the first edition in 1911, the purpose of the magazine was to disseminate professional knowledge furnish information as to the artillery's progress, development best use in campaign; to cultivate with the other arms a common understanding of the power limitations of each; to foster a feeling of interdependency among the different arms of hearty cooperation by all; to promote understanding between the regular militia forces by forging a close bond-all of which objects are worthy contribute to the good of our country.
